Milestones

While weddingsmemorials, and welcomings are the most common kinds of ceremonies performed, there are many other life events that can be enhanced with the use of a personalized ceremony. These are some of the other ceremonies that I can create and lead for you:
  • Vow Renewals – Celebrate milestone anniversaries including 5 years, 10 years, 25 or 50 years. Maybe you eloped or had a destination wedding and now want to renew your vows in the company of family and friends. Or perhaps you’ve weathered a significant relationship challenge and want to renew your promises to each other. Let your ceremony reflect your shared history and experiences and look to a bright future together.
  • Home Transitions – Whether you are entering a new home or leaving one you’ve lived in for keys many years, dwelling transitions are challenging. Make the space yours or gracefully transition to a new living environment with the assistance of ceremony.
  • Coming of Age – Celebrate the transition from child to adult, at 13, 15, 16, 18, 21 or another age that is significant in your family or heritage. Honor the children in your life and provide them with a special time to reflect on the value of continued connections within the family while claiming responsibility for themselves and establishing their own identity.
  • Support/Healing – Dealing with a serious illness, chronic condition or other significant health issue can increase your need for support and centering.  Caregivers are also often in need of a place and time to draw strength and comfort. A support or healing ceremony allows you to put your individual challenges in a larger context, to offer and receive support and strength from others and help you on your journey.

  • Partings – A ceremony can help ease the pain and fears surrounding divorce and family separation, acknowledging what was good about a union and honoring the past while focusing on hope, moving forward, and healing for all parties.
Any life event that you experience can be eased, enhanced or recognized with a ceremony.  Some other ideas include: graduations, new careers, retirements, milestone birthdays or family reunions. Each ceremony I create is uniquely developed to reflect the values, desires and thoughts of the individuals involved.  Please contact me to begin a discussion on your individual situation.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Some ceremonies are best attended only by immediate family members or friends.  Or you may have someone in mind to perform your ceremony, but want a professional to write it for you.  Whatever the situation, if you would like to work with me on a subset of my normal services, I would be happy to talk with you and come up with a plan that meets your needs.
